When you do not get a Google AdSense cheque in India

1. Log in to your Google AdSense account.

2. Go to the tab 'view payment history'.

3. Click on the details link next to the words "payment issued".

4. In a new explorer window go to the website of the courier which delivers the cheque – in my case, it is Blue Dart – and click on the tracker tool tab. For Blue Dart this is the link: Blue Dart shipment tracking tool

5. Select Reference No. and in the box copy-paste the Payment number from your Google AdSense account. It will be a 9-digit number, beginning with zero. Do not put the zero when copy-pasting to the tracking tool box.

Note: On some occasions, I have even got a payment tracking number of 11 digits showing in my account, written as BlueDart XXXXX. If this is given, it is the Blue Dart Waybill Number & not the Reference Number.

How to re-apply for a Google AdSense cheque
1. Go to this link: Application for re-issuance of Google AdSense cheque

You will see a query "Have you received the check you'd like to reissue?" Select "No" if you have genuinely not got the cheque.

2. Fill in the details very carefully.

3. In the box for amount, do not put in $ or Rs. For example, if it is $113.38, just put 112.28.

4. Select 'Other' option.

5. In the long rectangular space below, write the appropriate text. In my case, since the cheque was not delivered by Blue Dart due to non-location of address, I wrote:

Blue Dart did not deliver shipment because they could not locate my address. I have been receiving the cheques over 2 years at the same address each time and have not changed my address. Please re-issue my cheque.

To my pleasant surprise, within minutes I got an email from Google Inc. stating that the cheque will be re-issued and that if by chance I did get the original cheque (they give the cheque number), I should not deposit it in my Bank account. They also stated that the amount would show up in my payment history & if it was credited there before the 15th of the month, I would receive it in that month's payment; otherwise, if it showed after the 15th of the month, it would be included in the next month.

Note: This was the second time I had put in the request for the re-issuance of the cheque. The first time round, I had selected 'local delivery issue' instead of 'other'. So Google sent me an email stating that I should wait for 60 days and then re-apply for the cheque.

I suggest that you select 'Other' option only if you have had a problem like mine of non-location of address by the courier. You must select the correct option as per the problem you faced. It is possible, for example, that during the time the payment was issued and the time the courier arrived at your residence, you suddenly changed your address. In that case, let Google know about it while applying for a re-issuance of the cheque.

Suggestions:

  • As soon as you see the words "Payment issued" in your Google AdSense account, start tracking it right away on a daily basis through the tracking tool.
  • When contacting the courier, I think it is wise not to mention the word cheque. Refer to it as shipment.
  • If you happen to suddenly need to go out of town and nobody would be at home to receive your cheque, it is best you send an email and call up the courier, requesting them to send it on a particular date and time when you would be at home.

  • You can even go personally to the courier's office and pick up your shipment. Take a printout of the payment issued details and carry along with you a Xerox copy of proof of your residential address.
  • EFT Payments for Indian Publishers Soon

What is EFT and Why EFT?
Electronic Funds Transfer aka EFT payments are much convenient over Cheques as it takes around 2 weeks to receive the check, the possible reason being delay in the dispatching process after payment is issued at the end of the month. Though, I've seen most publishers blaming Blue Dart for the delay in delivery but Blue Dart isn't the real culprit as they take at most 3-4 days in delivering the check. Moreover, the checks issued by Adsense are payable at Citibank branches only and sadly Citibank has limited number of branches in India, hence check clearance takes more time and for non-local cheques you're charged a fee for collection of outstation cheques. And unfortunately, if one loses the check then they’ve to place a re-issue request which certainly delays the payment and is cumbersome too.

Through EFT, your AdSense earnings will be directly deposited into your bank account, in your local currency. EFT is fast, secure, and environmentally friendly, and it’s the Google-recommended payment method. To start receiving payments by EFT, you need to provide your bank details like account number and IFSC code, then verify your account by sending a small test deposit. Overall, it’s a speedy and simplified payment process.

If you are publisher in India, you must be aware that Google makes payment to Indian publishers through standard check delivery. Google Adsense also offers other payment options like Electronic Funds Transfer, Western Union Quick Cash and Rapida in various countries, but none in India except Checks. The EFT payments are currently available in 29 countries and Google is working hard to make it available in as many locations as possible.
There is a good news for all Indians publishers who have been demanding and eagerly waiting for the EFT payment facility since years, it seems Google is actively working to make EFT payments available in India as soon as possible. The source here is a reply from a Google Employee (AdSense Pro Payments) against a protest thread started by a publisher against Google on Google Product Forums.

How to Make Money With Google AdSense In 2014

Is it really as easy to make money with Google AdSense as many would lead you to believe? Now that I've become heavily involved with managing Google AdSense programs for my clients, I can see it's not all play and no work.

The way this works is, you build a website around a particular high value keyword. By “high value keyword” I mean a keyword that advertisers will pay a lot to target.

Google.com earns most of its revenue by allowing other website owners to advertise on their search results pages.

All this is managed through a program they call AdWords (pay per click marketing).

You see these ads displayed above the free/organic results and along the right side of the page on Google.com.

These are called Sponsored Results, and the advertisers are paying a certain amount of money per click for these ads.

    Google AdSense Payments
Google will not issue an AdSense payment until your earnings exceed $100. Unfortunately, there are loads of Google AdSense Forum entries about website operators who accumulated $90 or more in click through earnings only to get banned from Google and not get paid anything at all before they ever reached $100. This may be because Google doesn't take a close look to see if you're complying with their guidelines until it comes time to pay you. So yes, there's a lot more to the story than meets the eye.

    Other Programs Besides AdSense
Yahoo and MSN have similar programs, although those programs aren't as well-developed as Google AdSense and there aren't as many available advertisers to display ads on your site. The fundamentals for making money are the same: You still need plenty of traffic, you still need high-paying ads, and you still need to design your site to harmonize with the ads to get people to click.
